Compressive Strength Development of Dune Sand Reactive Powder Concrete (RPC) Under Different Curing Conditions

چکیده

Abstract Reactive powder concrete (RPC) is a special type of with remarkable properties, particularly compressive strength. Some its main disadvantages include high cement and SF content, fine quartz preferred size 150 ?m - 600 ?m, low water-to- binder ratio. These characteristics increase the cost RPC production affect sustainable development. Because this, researchers have resorted to exploring substitutes produce an eco-friendlier RPC. Accordingly, this research aims study strength development prepared dune sand supplementary cementitious materials (SCM). Three factors were investigated including 1) replacing 30% ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS), 2) using ternary blends GGBS fly ash (FA) in RPC, 3) applying 100°C hot air curing (HAC) Overall, results showed that HAC water cured specimens exceeded 120 MPa after 12 hours 28 days, respectively. Moreover, mixes incorporating SCM was slower than control mix only under conditions.

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...

Underspanned Bridge Structures in Reactive Powder Concrete (RPC)

Adapted structures must be developed so that modern reactive powder concretes (RPC) can be incorporated into new construction projects in an efficient and logical way. The steps of this development, from the analysis of the material characteristics, to the determination of the structural requirements, to the arrival at an appropriate adapted structure are described. An Outlook on the developmen...

Simulation of the Reactive Powder Concrete (RPC) Behavior Reinforcing with Resistant Fiber Subjected to Blast Load

In research or experimental works related to blast loads, the amount of explosion material and distance of explosion point are very important. So, in this paper has been attempted to present a parametric study of the reactive powder concrete subjected to blast load. The effect of the different amount of TNT adopted the literature, distance of explosion point from RPC slab and also the location ...

Effects of Different Water and Super Plasticizer Amount, Pre-Setting and Curing Regimes on the Behavior of Reactive Powder Concrete

Reactive Powder Concrete (RPC) is an ultra high performance concrete which has superior mechanical and physical properties. The RPC is composed of cement and very fine powders such as crushed quartz (100–600 μm) and silica fume with very low water/binder ratio (W/B) (less than 0.20) and Super Plasticizer (SP). The RPC has a very high compressive and tensile strength with better durability prope...

Prediction of 28-day Compressive Strength of Concrete from Early Strength and Accelerated Curing Parameters

Abstract-Predicting 28-day compressive strength of concrete is an important research task for many years. In this study, concrete specimens were cured in two phases, initially at room temperature for a maximum of 30 h and later at a higher temperature for accelerated curing for a maximum of 3 h. Using the early strength obtained after the two-phase curing and the curing parameters, regression e...
